Fresh fruit for Christmas
Christmas gifts of fresh and dried fruit have been common in the United States for decades. These are some early magazine advertisements for fresh fruit gifts.
This ad is from the mid 1920's.
This ad is from the 1938. Most stores only has seasonal fresh fruit so something as simple as pears was a real luxury.
This basket advertisement is from 1948 and reflects post-war prosperity.
